Terms of Service
Last updated: October 22, 2026
The short version: MitoDo helps your household share groceries, chores, and projects. Your content is yours. Please be respectful in your household, and don't misuse the service. MitoDo is provided as-is, and you can stop using it and delete your account at any time.
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Two Cell Labs LLC ("we", "us"). They cover your use of the MitoDo website, web app, and mobile apps (together, "MitoDo"). By using MitoDo, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use MitoDo.
2. Who can use MitoDo
You must be at least 13 years old to use MitoDo. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use MitoDo only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.
3. Your account
You sign in to MitoDo with a third-party account such as Google. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for activity in MitoDo under your account. Let us know right away if you think someone else has access to it.
4. Households
- A household is a shared space. Everything you add to a household's shared lists can be seen and changed by its other members. Personal tasks are visible only to you.
- The person who creates a household is its admin. The admin can invite people, remove members, and hand the admin role to another member.
- Only invite people you know and trust, and keep invite links and join codes private.
- If you leave a household or are removed from it, the shared content you added stays with the household.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the lists, tasks, recipes, and other content you add to MitoDo. You give us permission to store, copy, sync, and display that content only as needed to run MitoDo for you and your household. You are responsible for your content and for having the right to share it.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use MitoDo to:
- break the law or violate anyone else's rights;
- harass, threaten, or harm other people;
- access a household, account, or data you aren't authorized to use, including by guessing invite links or join codes;
- interfere with or disrupt MitoDo, probe it for vulnerabilities without our permission, or overload it with automated requests;
- copy, resell, or reverse engineer MitoDo, except where the law allows it.
7. Demo mode
Demo mode shows sample content that is stored only on your device. It may be reset at any time, so don't rely on it to keep anything.
8. Our service
We are always working to improve MitoDo, so features may change, be added, or be removed. We may ask you to update the app to keep using it. MitoDo is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will show you the price and terms before you buy. App store purchases are also subject to the store's own terms.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using MitoDo at any time. To delete your account, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to for legal reasons. If we stop offering MitoDo, we will try to give you reasonable notice first.
10. Disclaimers
MitoDo is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that MitoDo will always be available, error-free, or that content will never be lost. MitoDo is a list and reminder tool, so please don't rely on it for anything critical, such as medication schedules or safety tasks.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Two Cell Labs LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of MitoDo. Our total liability for any claim relating to MitoDo is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for MitoDo in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
12. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover any claims, losses, or costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your content or from your breaking these terms.
13. Apple and Google app stores
If you downloaded MitoDo from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and Two Cell Labs LLC, not Apple or Google. If you use the iOS app, the following also applies:
- Apple is not responsible for MitoDo or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.
- If MitoDo fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund any purchase price you paid. Apple has no other warranty obligation for MitoDo.
- Two Cell Labs LLC, not Apple, is responsible for handling any claims relating to MitoDo. This includes product liability claims, claims that MitoDo fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, and claims that MitoDo infringes someone's intellectual property.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Your use of each app store is also governed by that store's own terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will update the date above and let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using MitoDo after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
