Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
The short version: MitoDo stores the lists and tasks you and your household add so they can sync between your devices. We don't show ads, we don't sell your information, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
Who we are
MitoDo is a shared grocery, chore, and project app for households. It is operated by Two Cell Labs LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the MitoDo website, web app, and mobile apps for iOS and Android.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile photo link, and a Google account identifier. We never see your Google password, and MitoDo does not ask for access to your Google contacts, calendar, or files.
- What you add to MitoDo. Grocery items, stores, tasks, projects, chores, recipes (with any notes and source links), due dates, priorities, assignments, whether items are done, and your color theme. MitoDo also keeps simple usage counts, such as how often an item is bought, to sort your lists.
- Household membership. Which household you belong to, who its admin is, the email addresses you enter when inviting someone, and invite links and join codes. Invite links expire after 7 days and join codes after 24 hours. We keep a record of failed join attempts to stop people guessing their way into a household.
- Technical information. Like most online services, our hosting and database providers record IP addresses, device and browser details, and request times in their server logs. We use these logs to keep the service running and secure.
What we don't collect
MitoDo does not collect your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or advertising identifiers. It contains no advertising software, it doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and it does not send your content to AI services.
MitoDo doesn't currently use analytics or crash-reporting tools, and it doesn't currently take payments. If we add analytics or crash reporting, we'll use them only to keep MitoDo working and to improve it, never for advertising. If we add paid plans, Apple or Google will handle the payments. Either way, we'll update this policy before the change ships.
Information stored on your device
- So MitoDo works offline, your device keeps a copy of your household's tasks for up to 30 days and basic account and household details for up to 7 days.
- Your sign-in session and app preferences, such as list sort order and recently added items, are kept in local storage. The web app also caches its own files so it loads quickly.
- Demo mode runs entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers.
- You can remove this local copy at any time with Settings → Privacy & Local Data → Clear local data & sign out. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use your information
- To provide MitoDo: syncing your lists, showing household members to one another, and handling invitations.
- To keep MitoDo secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To reply when you contact us.
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We don't share it for advertising, and we don't use it to train AI models.
Who can see your information
- Your household. Members of your household can see shared lists, tasks, and recipes, and each member's name, profile photo, and email address. Personal tasks are visible only to you.
- Service providers. These process data on our behalf to run MitoDo:
- Supabase: database, sign-in, and server functions.
- Vercel: website and web app hosting.
- Google: sign-in. Profile photos load from Google's servers.
- Things you choose to send. If you add a task to Google Calendar, text a task, share an invite link, or copy a list, MitoDo hands the details to that app or service. This includes the email addresses of any calendar guests you select. From there, that service's own privacy policy applies.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our users, the public, or Two Cell Labs LLC.
- Business transfers. If Two Cell Labs LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. This policy would continue to apply to it.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information for as long as you have an account. To delete your account, go to Settings → Account → Delete account in the app. Deleting your account:
- Deletes your profile, your personal tasks, and your sign-in account.
- Unassigns any shared tasks that were assigned to you. Shared lists stay with your household for the remaining members.
- Deletes the whole household and all of its lists, tasks, and recipes if you were its only member. If other members remain, admin passes to another member.
You can also leave a household without deleting your account. Copies of deleted data may remain in our providers' backups for a limited time until those backups expire. If you can't sign in and want your account deleted, contact us at the address below.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Database access rules limit each person to their own household's information. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
Children
MitoDo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to how we use it. You can view and change most of your information in the app, download a copy of it with Settings → Privacy & Local Data → Download a copy of your data, and delete your account at any time. For anything else, contact us. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Because MitoDo doesn't track you across other websites, it doesn't change how it behaves in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
Where information is processed
Two Cell Labs LLC is based in the United States. Our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than your own.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and let you know in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
